The overall design of the hub is intended to not only generate energy and maintain communication lines, but also provide a safe ground for people to go to in times of calamities. The hub is elevated above the highest flood line and storm surge levels.
The double skin façade is strengthened to resist strong water currents and wind flow. It is specifically designed for people to easily climb up to in times of natural calamities, with built-in grooves people can easily grasp onto. Spaces between concrete panels will allow flood water to flow through the structure with less resistance and impact.
